Becoming a Yoga Teacher and the Benefits of a Teacher Training

Have you ever thought of becoming a yoga instructor?

Here is my WHY:

Let’s start by saying that I was always shy and terrified of public speaking so the idea of becoming a Yoga Teacher was beyond my believes.

My health issues and my level of stress made me walk into a yoga class. From that moment on my life took a different turn.

Discovering yoga and meditation completely changed my life. It gave me tools to improve my relationship with my family and friends and it thought me how to approach and respond to all the day to day challenges.

After seeing complete changes within myself I felt the need to guide others into a healthier, peaceful and more mindful life. I couldn’t just keep it to myself. I wanted to share, I wanted to be of help.

I start looking into deepening my practice and becoming a certified yoga teacher because I was 100% sure that, that’s what I was meant to do. My fear was replaced by my passion filled with love and compassion for others.

The opportunity to explore, discover and experience the depths of yoga on and off the mat during that first YTT changed my life in all of the ways I hoped it would and more! I fell in love with teaching. I started teaching yoga a week after I finished my training and haven’t stopped since.

So if you start to experience that urge to take your yoga practice to the next level, do not hesitate to listen. Invest in yourself and acquire the rewards for the rest of your life. Read on and discover just some of the benefits of taking a YTT.

Incredible Benefits of Yoga Teacher Training:

1. Deepen Your Practice

During your YTT, you will discover a deeper level of what yoga is, alongside diverse aspects of yourself. You will reframe and rediscover what yoga means to you. The intention of ancient yogis was not to just strengthen muscles and stretch the body so much as discover the hidden and subtle realms of being.

Through the YTT, practicing chanting and pranayama, meditating, exploring yoga asana and connecting with others, you will discover a new relationship with yoga that will open your mind and your heart.

2. Become A Teacher. Get Ready to Blossom.

In a YTT you will discover and connect with your physical body and understand the energies of your being. You will learn how to stay committed to your practice, how to show up to your mat every day and how to take these tools and apply them in your daily modern life.

With the help of your instructors, you will learn how to design your practice. Yoga is about listening your body and discovering the Self.

Once you have completed your YTT you will be a teacher! Now, you can develop your own unique teaching style that is authentic and mindful. As a teacher, you have the opportunity to give back not only to your students but also to those who may not have access to yoga. There is always a need for teachers who can share the knowledge of yoga with local senior centers, prisons, primary schools, and other community outlets.

3. Be Part of a Yoga Community.

In the beginning of your YTT you will walk into a room full of strangers and by the end of the day you will find yourself more connected to the group than you are connected to your colleagues at work, and by the end of the training you will realize you become family.

Once you become an instructor, you’ll find yourself a part of a community of other yoga teachers who enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience.

You’ll have an opportunity to be a more active and involved part of the yoga community and can form relationships with other instructors that will last throughout your life.

4. Freedom to Practice Anywhere and Anytime.

One of the biggest benefits of becoming a yoga teacher is that you’ll have the ability to be your own yoga teacher. You can practice whenever you want, and wherever you are. Once you’ve completed the YTT, you will be a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher and you’ll understand how to guide your practice from that perspective.

Yoga is now popular everywhere, across the country and outside the country and the demand of certified yoga instructors is in high demand. You have that choice of deciding where you want to teach.

5. Build Confidence and Social Skills.

YTT is a safe space where you learn to build self-confidence. Self-confidence equips students with the skills to try new challenges, cope with mistakes and try again.

As a yoga teacher, you are the leader. You will interact with students from all walks of life and you have to show confidence and knowledge because your students rely on you to give them what they need.
